UFC legend Ken Shamrock hit a woman while trying to break up a fight at a mall in California, according to a report from TMZ.
Shamrock, 48, saw two women involved in a fight in Modesto, California and jumped in to break up the skirmish when another person jumped on his back.
The TMZ report stated that Shamrock “threw the person off of his back and followed up with a move that knocked the attacker to the ground.”
He reportedly believed the person he hit was a man until someone in the crowd yelled at him and told him he knocked out a woman.
The woman is not expected to press chargers as Shamrock was acting in self-defence.
Shamrock has not fought in the UFC since a 2006 loss to Tito Ortiz. His career in fighting lasted 17 years that included stints in the WWF, PRIDE, Pancrase and the UFC.
