Sportsnet.ca — Welterweight contenders Karo Parisyan and Thiago Alves will square off in April, but not in Montreal. The UFC announced the fight will be part of a UFC Fight Night on Apr. 2 in Broomfield, Colorado.
There had been reports the two would face each other at the yet-to-be confirmed card on Apr. 19 in Montreal. Instead, theirs will be one of three featured fights on the second Fight Night of 2008.
The event will be headlined by a lightweight bout between Kenny Florian and Joe Lauzon. Also, light heavyweights Stephan Bonnar and Matt Hamill will square off.
NOTE: According to MMAweekly.com, Evan Tanner will take on Yushin Okami on Apr 19 when the UFC makes its Canadian debut. Tanner has been out of competition for a couple of years.
