‘Top of HER Game’ interview series premieres Sunday on Sportsnet

Sportsnet is launching a new series, "Top of HER Game," to empower women through conversation and shine a spotlight on female thought-leaders. Tara Slone hosts and explores the lives and careers of some of sport and culture’s fearless females.

Female athletes, builders and rising stars are continuing to inspire people around the world by blazing trails and smashing glass ceilings in sports.

To celebrate these female leaders, Sportsnet is launching a new interview series, Top of HER Game, to empower women through conversation and shine a spotlight on female thought-leaders. Hosted by Tara Slone, the weekly 30-minute show explores the lives, careers and accomplishments of some of sport and culture’s fearless females.

“When it comes to sports and gender, there is still much work to be done to level the playing field in terms of pay, opportunity, representation and coverage,” Slone said. “With Top of HER Game, we are using our platform to showcase the power, strength and resilience of the women who have blazed trails and the ones who continue to light the world on fire. These are stories that deserve to be told and journeys that deserve to be chronicled.”

In Sunday’s debut episode, airing at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet NOW, Slone will be joined by WWE chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon and 10-time WWE women’s champion Charlotte Flair.

Future guests on Top of HER Game will include:

Kim Davis – NHL senior executive VP of social impact, growth initiatives, & legislative affairs
Waneek Horn-Miller – Olympian, First Mohawk woman to compete in Summer Olympic Games
Mathea Olin – Future Summer Games Olympian, Canada’s first Pan American surfing medallist
Chantal Petitclerc – Canada’s most decorated Paralympian, Quebec senator

This interview series aims to continue the dialogue sparked during Sportsnet’s International Women’s Day celebrations in March, including the milestone all-female broadcast team for an NHL game. Episodes of Top of HER Game will also include contributions from Sportsnet’s own Caroline Cameron, Hazel Mae, Danielle Michaud, Nikki Reyes, Christine Simpson and Evanka Osmak.

Top of HER Game will air Sundays at 6:30 p.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. PT over the next several weeks. Episodes will also be available the following day on sportsnet.ca and Sportsnet’s YouTube channel.

Broadcast details and announcements about future guests will be available here and across Sportsnet’s social media channels.
