Trampolinist Burnett recovering from Knee surgery

Canadian trampolinist Jason Burnett is recovering from knee surgery and will miss the upcoming Trampoline World Championship in Daytona Beach, Florida.

Jason Burnett on Twitter: “I had a bad crash on Oct 1 and injured my knee. The damage was quite extensive and I won’t be able to compete at the World Champs this year”

“The damage is a complete ACL tear, second degree MCL tear, medial and lateral meniscus tear, and bone bruise with microfracture [right knee],” Burnett said on Twitter.

Burnett tweeted Friday morning that ACL reconstruction surgery is complete. An earlier note from the athlete says the recovery time for this type of surgery is between six to seven months.

“This injury comes at a very frustrating time but I’ve been in this position before,” he said. “I’ll be back!!”

The Trampoline World Championships take place in Daytona Beach from November 7 to 9.
