The NBA Cup may have been awarded, but the accolades don't stop there.
Canadian Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cup MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo were unanimously voted on to the NBA Cup All-Tournament Team on Thursday, along with Milwaukee Bucks' Damian Lillard, Atlanta Hawks' Trae Young, and Houston Rockets' Alperen Sengun.
Gilgeous-Alexander's average of 30.6 points led all players whose teams advanced to the knockout round. Antetokounmpo averaged 30.5 points on 66.7 per cent shooting from the field, adding 10.2 rebounds and 7.7 assists.
The Bucks went 7-0 on their way to the Cup victory, and are now 11-1 in tournament play through its first two editions.
Lillard scored 27.3 points, shooting 45.9 per cent from three-point range with 8.3 assists. Young had 24.2 points per game, led the tournament in assists with 10.8, and had the cheekiest celebration of the Cup with his dice roll on the logo at Madison Square Garden. Sengun averaged 19.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 6.2 assists.
While these stars were honoured with the All-Tournament nod, the real winner may be Taurean Prince, who has now taken home $1 million in winnings as the only player to win the NBA Cup twice — with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2023 and the Bucks in 2024.
