Milwaukee Bucks forward Khris Middleton told reporters that he is set to make his return Sunday against the Phoenix Suns after missing over a month due to an ankle injury.
"Hopefully, nothing happens, knock on wood," Middleton said according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic. "But I expect to be playing tomorrow."
Middleton injured his ankle on Feb. 6 during a game against the Suns. He would go on to miss 16 games.
The 32-year-old wing has been ramping up in practice and head coach Doc Rivers said that he had a great workout on Friday, that he looked good and was getting closer to making his return.
His season has been hampered by injury, as he's only played in 43 of the team's 67 games. He's averaging 14.8 points, his lowest amount since 2016-17, while also grabbing 4.3 rebounds and dishing out 5.0 assists per game.
Milwaukee is currently second in the Eastern Conference with a 43-24 record, 9.5 games behind first-place Boston. In the 16 games without Middleton, they went 10-6.
