The short-handed Chicago Bulls just took another hit.
Guard Josh Giddey was ruled out of Monday's game against the Toronto Raptors with a right ankle injury, the team announced.
Giddey appeared to step awkwardly as he closed out on a corner three-point attempt from Toronto's Gradey Dick and fell to the ground in pain.
He was helped off the court by trainers and ruled out shortly after. Star scorer Zach Lavine and key reserve Dalen Terry are also out injured for the Bulls.
The Bulls acquired the 22-year-old Giddey in an off-season trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, sending fellow guard Alex Caruso the other way.
In 26 games with Chicago, Giddey is averaging 11.9 points, 6.9 assists and 6.3 rebounds.
