The Celtics will be without star Jaylen Brown when they go for the season sweep of the Raptors on Monday night, as he is officially out with a right knee hyperextension, the team announced.
Brown's absence will be a huge loss for Boston, as he has been extremely productive in three games versus the Raptors this season. The two-time NBA All-Star is averaging 27.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists on a staggering 64 per cent from the field against Toronto.
For the Raptors, who will be returning to Scotiabank Arena after a six-game road trip, they will be without starting centre Jakob Poeltl, guard Otto Porter Jr. and Christian Koloko, who have all been ruled out. Guard Gradey Dick has been given a questionable tag for Monday's contest, as he is dealing with a right thumb strain.
The Celtics are currently on a seven-game win streak against Toronto. The Raptors' last win against the Celtics was nearly two-years ago — a 115-112 overtime victory on March 28, 2022, where both Brown and Jayson Tatum were inactive.
