• Duke confirms Cooper Flagg will play in tournament opener

The projected No. 1 pick in this summer's NBA Draft has been cleared to play in his team's opener of the NCAA tournament.

Duke announced Thursday that star Cooper Flagg will be active for Friday's Round of 64 game against Mount St. Mary's.

Flagg sprained his ankle in the quarterfinals of the ACC tournament and missed the final two games as Duke captured the title.

However, NCAA Senior VP of Basketball Dan Gavitt told CBS earlier in the week that Flagg was expected to be cleared for the March Madness tournament.

The six-foot-nine guard/forward can impact all areas of the game. This season, he averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.5 steals in 32 games.
