Memphis Grizzlies guard Desmond Bane will be sidelined for at least six weeks with a Grade 3 left ankle sprain, the team said Sunday.
Bane will be re-evaluated after the six-week period.
Bane suffered the injury Friday after stepping on Los Angeles Clippers forward Kawhi Leonard's foot while driving to the basket.
Bane is averaging a career-best 24.4 points per game this season.
The Grizzlies (14-25) have been hit hard by injuries recently.
Ja Morant is out for the season with a shoulder injury, while Marcus Smart is likely out another six weeks with a hand injury.
Additionally, the Grizzlies will also be without second-year wing Jake LaRavia who also suffered an ankle injury on Saturday against the New York Knicks. He'll be re-evaluated in three weeks according to the team.
