The Grizzlies' injury curse just can't seem to be broken.
Memphis superstar guard Ja Morant has been listed as week-to-week after suffering a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder, the team announced Monday.
The injury occurred in the Grizzlies' game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, Dec. 27. He did not suit up for the team's 130-106 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.
Morant was hurt when he crashed into a hard but legal screen set by Daniel Theis during the third quarter. The collision sent Morant crashing to the floor in a way that led officials to initially whistle Theis for a foul before overturning the call on replay review.
The 25-year-old has struggled to stay healthy this season, having already missed 13 games. He missed eight games in November with a posterior hip subluxation and multiple Grade 1 pelvic muscle strains.
In the games that he has suited up, Morant has been his highlight-hunting self, tallying 21.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 7.9 assists despite a career-low 27.7 minutes per game.
The Grizzlies have fared well in his absence, earning an 8-5 record in games he hasn't played. Overall, Memphis is 22-11 and sits second in the Western Conference.
They're set to take on the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, and along with Morant, will be without Santi Aldama (ankle), Brandon Clarke (calf), Zach Edey (concussion), Marcus Smart (hand), GG Jackson (foot), Jake LaRavia (ankle) and Vince Williams (ankle).
