Xavier Sneed has signed a 10-day hardship exception with the Memphis Grizzlies, the team announced Monday.
Sneed played nine games in 2021 for the Niagara River Lions of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL).
The 24-year-old averaged 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game for the River lions who made, but lost, the championship game against the Edmonton Stingers.
Sneed has played 14 games in the G-league for the Greensboro Swarm — The Charlotte Hornets affiliate — since his time in the CEBL, averaging 10 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game.
The Kansas State product joins fellow CEBLers Xavier Moon (Clippers) and Javin DeLaurier (Bucks) in the NBA.
The Memphis Grizzlies (20-14) face the Phoenix Suns (26-6) Monday night.
