Philadelphia 76ers guard James Harden has been ejected from Game 3 against the Brooklyn Nets after committing a flagrant 2 foul for excessive and unnecessary force.
While being guarded by Royce O'Neale in the third quarter, Harden looked to have forcibly and according to the referees, purposefully swung his arm at O'Neale's groin. The Nets' wing keeled over from the contact.
Harden was leading the 76ers in scoring with 21 points in 29 minutes. He also had five rebounds and four assists at that point in the game.
Nets centre Nic Claxton was also taken out of the game a few minutes into the fourth quarter after receiving his second technical foul of the night for taunting the 76ers after a dunk.
Claxton had 18 points in 27 minutes while grabbing four rebounds.
76ers teammate Joel Embiid received a polarizing flagrant 1 foul earlier in the game after kicking Claxton in the groin area while Embiid was on the ground.
The 76ers currently hold a 2-0 series lead over the Nets.
