OG Anunoby's career-best playoff game had to be cut short.
The New York Knicks forward was removed from Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday with a sore left hamstring, the team announced.
The incident occurred at the 3:47 mark in the third quarter after Anunoby was running the fastbreak. He appeared to come up awkwardly after going for a lay-up and instead opted to toss the ball off the backboard. He wound up on the baseline, took some time to get up and went back to the team's locker room.
Anunoby was in the midst of the best post-season game of his career, as he scored 28 points in 27 minutes on 10-for-19 from the field and 4-for-7 from 3-point range. He also had four rebounds, three assists and a block.
His 28 points were also the most he's had as a Knick.
The Pacers were up 10 points at half-time as they tried to even the series at one game each, but a strong rally from Anunoby and the rest of the Knicks had New York up nine points when the forward was forced to leave the game.
New York has a ridiculous 25-5 record when Anunoby has a spot in the lineup. He has averaged 14.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks since joining the Knicks.
