Lakers' Anthony Davis out at least one week with abdominal muscle strain

The Los Angeles Lakers' playoff push will continue without one of their stars for the next little bit.

Anthony Davis was ruled out for at least one week after suffering an abdominal muscle strain against the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, the team announced.

The 31-year-old is averaging 25.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game, all top-10 marks in the league.

Davis walked to the locker room with his right hand over his stomach as he left with 2:10 to go in the first quarter. He had four points in 10 minutes before he was hurt and was coming off a 42-point, 23-rebound performance on Monday in a victory at Charlotte.

Los Angeles sits fifth in the Western Conference at 26-19, but is just 3.5 games ahead of the 11th-place Golden State Warriors.

Davis will return to Los Angeles while the team's road trip continues with a visit to Washington on Thursday and New York on Saturday.
