Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with a mid-foot sprain on his right foot and will be re-evaluated in four weeks, the team announced Thursday.
Davis suffered the injury in the second quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers’ 106-101 victory over the Utah Jazz, though his injury was initially reported to be an ankle sprain that would keep him out for about two weeks. An MRI then revealed it to be a mid-foot sprain.
The injury is the second that Davis has suffered in the last two months, missing time in December and January after suffering an MCL sprain that kept him sidelined for five weeks.
Once healthy, Davis recorded three-straight double-doubles in February, and scored 17 points in 17 minutes of action against the Jazz.
Davis is averaging 23.1 points and 9.7 rebounds per game this season in the 37 appearances he has made, already making progress from playing only 36 of the 72 regular-season games in 2020-21 dealing with a calf/Achilles injury.
