Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis are returning to the lineup Friday against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Both players were listed on the starting lineup, alongside Dwight Howard, Avery Bradley and Russell Westbrook.
James has been sidelined with an ankle sprain this week, while Davis has been out since Feb. 14 with a foot sprain. Earlier in the day, LeBron James took to Twitter to announce he was "out for the season officially." It was widely received as an April Fools joke.
The return of both stars comes at a desperate time for the Lakers, who are currently on the outside of the play-in tournament as the 11th in the Western Conference with only six games remaining in the regular season. Los Angeles holds an identical record as the 10th-seed San Antonio Spurs and trails the No. 9 seed Pelicans by two games.
The 37-year-old James is tied for first in league scoring this season, averaging 30.1 points. Davis, 29, is averaging 23.1 points and 9.7 rebounds this season.
