LeBron James could be inching closer to a return to the Los Angeles Lakers lineup.
James, who hasn't played since Feb. 26 due to soreness in his right foot, has been upgraded from out to doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bulls.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday that the Lakers are optimistic James will return for the final few games of the regular season.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season.
Los Angeles (37-37) is eighth in the Western Conference and riding a three-game winning streak.
