The Los Angeles Lakers seem intent on playing it safe with their newest prized possession.
Superstar guard Luka Doncic, who made his Lakers debut Monday night, has been listed as questionable for a rematch against the Utah Jazz, the team announced.
Doncic has been dealing with a left calf strain, and prior to Monday's game, hadn't suited up since Dec. 25.
The 25-year-old Slovenian talent had a solid outing in his debut in purple and gold, finishing with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists in 23 minutes. He was playing under a medical staff-imposed minutes restriction.
He is averaging 27.5 points, 8.2. rebounds and 7.7 assists in 35.2 minutes per game over 23 appearances this season.
Doncic joined the Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks in a blockbuster trade that was first reported by ESPN late on Feb. 1.
Though Doncic's status remains up in the air, the Lakers will have to take on the Jazz without the services of forward Dorian Finney-Smith (ankle soreness), Gabe Vincent (knee soreness), Maxi Kleber (foot) and Cam Reddish (personal).
