The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be without both LeBron James and Anthony Davis for Wednesday night’s game against the Houston Rockets.
James has missed the last five games due to an ongoing ankle injury but had been upgraded to “questionable” earlier on Wednesday. However, the four-time NBA champion tweeted later that, while he’s “getting close,” he’d miss the Rockets contest.
Getting close but I won’t be in the lineup tonight but more importantly I will be there to put that CHAMPIONSHIP banner in the rafters at Staples Center in front of our fans!! #No17

According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, James is scheduled to make his return Saturday against the Indiana Pacers.
Davis is expected to miss the Rockets game after experiencing groin tightness in L.A.’s overtime win over the New York Knicks on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
Davis missed 30 games earlier this season due to right-calf and heel injuries.
The defending champions Lakers enter Wednesday night’s action with a 39-30 record and currently sitting in the Western Conference’s play-in tournament spots at seventh.
