Cleveland hosted Saturday night’s NBA All-Star Skills Competition including the infamous dunk contest, three-point contest and a skills challenge involving rookies, Cavaliers and Antetokounmpo brothers.
After a thrilling celebrity all-star game and the rookies and sophomores of the league taking part in the Rising Stars game, the skills competition was the main event Saturday before the 71st All-Star game where Team LeBron takes on Team Durant on Sunday.

Taco Bell Skills Challenge
In the first round, each player from all three teams had 30 seconds to shoot from five different spots and players were not able to repeat the same shot consecutively. Each spot had different values, ranging from one through five points. The scores from each individual player were be added to determine the team score.
The team that earned the most points got 100 Challenge Points.
In the passing challenge, players were given 30 seconds to complete passes into three oversized moving targets, with each varying in size and distance from where the players were standing. Each team was required to make at least one pass attempt at each target and individual players could not make consecutive passes at the same target. Each target had different point values (two points, four points or six points) for each pass completed.
Another 100 Challenge Points went to the team with the most points.
In the third round, players took part in a timed relay. Each player completed a course with the following skills that had to be done.
– Throw an outlet pass into a moving target from the baseline; 2.
– Dribble down the court through three moving pylons
– Make a short shot in the lane
– Make a three-pointer from the corner against an automated defender
– Dribble to the opposite goal and make a basket (such as a dunk, layup or jump shot).
The team with the fastest time earned 200 Challenge Points.
In the final round, every player from the top two teams had to hit a half-court shot.

Due to two teams being tied after three rounds, Darius Garland sent Team Cavs to the final round in a three-point shootout tiebreaker.

MTN DEW 3-point Contest
Eight players competed in the 3-Point Contest, the second event of All-Star Saturday night. The three competitors with the highest scores in the first round advanced to the championship round.

Four participants competed in two rounds with each attempting two dunks in the first round. The two players with the highest combined score advanced to the final round. In the finals, each participant attempted two more dunks.
