After appearing in the NBA Finals, Kyrie Irving ran into some injury trouble this off-season.
The Dallas Mavericks announced Tuesday that Irving underwent surgery to repair a broken right hand, which he sustained while training earlier this month.
In 58 games for the Mavericks in 2023-24, the 32-year-old averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists on 49.7 per cent shooting from the field and 41.1 per cent shooting from three-point range.
In helping Dallas to the Finals, Irving averaged 22.1 points and 5.1 assists over 22 post-season contests before the Mavericks were ousted by the Boston Celtics.
The Mavericks said that further updates on Irving's status will be provided as appropriate.
