The NBA's Last Two Minute report for Friday's game between the Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls revealed two incorrect calls that went against the Raptors, and specifically forward Pascal Siakam.
The first incorrect whistle occurred with 1:26 remaining in the final quarter when Siakam defended a DeMar DeRozan layup attempt. It was ruled a shooting foul and DeRozan was awarded two free throws with the Raptors up 91-84.
The league now asserts that Siakam "maintains verticality and absorbs the contact that occurs as DeRozan slips by for the layup attempt," and that the free throws should not have been awarded. DeRozan made both attempts.
The second call came as the Raptors possessed the ball on a side-out with a 93-92 lead and only three seconds remaining in regulation.
Siakam made a cut in an attempt to create separation between him and Bulls guard Alex Caruso and, after a collision, was called for an offensive foul as Caruso fell to the floor.
The league says Siakam and Caruso "come together during the throw-in and marginal contact occurs as Siakam releases away. Caruso is not dislodged from his defensive position as a result of any illegal contact by Siakam."
The turnover led to a Bulls possession, which ended in another foul and two free throws for DeRozan. He would make one of the attempts to send the game into overtime.
The Raptors would eventually lose the contest 104-103 in overtime with a late Caruso three-pointer sealing Toronto's fate.
The report also revealed three incorrect non-calls. Two should have been called on the Raptors for a Siakam offensive foul (33 seconds remaining in regulation) and a Scottie Barnes offensive three-second violation (1:27 remaining in overtime), and one on the Bulls for a DeRozan travel (three seconds remaining in regulation).
After winning their season and home opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 24, the Raptors have lost the two games since then, dropping to 1-2 on the new season.
The Raptors host No. 3 overall pick Scoot Henderson, Canadian Shaedon Sharpe and the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.
