Nic Claxton saw his night come to an abrupt end on Thursday.
The Brooklyn Nets centre was ejected in the second quarter of Thursday's game against the Toronto Raptors after he chucked the ball into the crowd following a whistle.
Claxton, 25, appeared heated after a foul by Raptors veteran Kelly Olynyk was called to stop what looked like an easy dunk for the sixth-year pro. After the call, the Georgia product underhand tossed the ball into the Scotiabank Arena crowd and was immediately ejected from the game by referee Ben Taylor.
Thursday's ejection was Claxton's third of the season, which leads the NBA. He had seven points and five rebounds in 10 minutes before he was tossed.
Originally selected by the Nets in the second round of the 2019 NBA Draft, Claxton came into Thursday's contest averaging 9.6 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in 2024-25.
