Kyrie Irving didn't even suit up in his first game since requesting a trade out of Brooklyn — but that didn't stop Nets fans from booing him.
Irving is missing Saturday's game against the Washington Wizards with calf soreness, the Nets said.
When he appeared on the Barclays Center jumbotron as the injuries were announced before the game, the Nets faithful let him hear it.
Irving reportedly asked the Nets for a trade Friday due to frustrations that Brooklyn has thus far refused to give him an extension on his contract that expires after this season.
The trade request is just the latest episode in a never-ending saga since Kyrie signed with the Nets in 2019.
Speaking to reporters before Saturday's game, Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn did not say whether or not Irving would play in either of Brooklyn's two remaining games before Thursday's trade deadline.
