International basketball is well represented in the NBA and Canada continues to lead the way.
For the 11th consecutive season, Canada is the most-represented country outside the United States with 21 players. The Canadian contingent is led by Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished runner-up in the MVP voting last season, as well as Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray and a pair of Toronto Raptors, RJ Barrett and Kelly Olynk.
In total, there are 125 international players from 43 countries, both record-tying numbers. All NBA teams feature at least one international player and it is the fourth straight year opening rosters have featured at least 120 players.
After Canada, the next-most represented countries this season are France, Australia, Germany and Serbia, with six players each. The NBA says there is also a record-tying 17 players from the continent of Africa this season.
