The Toronto Raptors will have to wait for a reunion with one of the franchise's all-time greats.
Denver Nuggets wing DeMar DeRozan was a late scratch for Wednesday night's game against the Raptors with back spasms, the team announced.
DeRozan, 37, signed a one-year veteran minimum contract with the Nuggets in the off-season and is averaging 10.7 points through six games. It would be his lowest scoring average since his rookie season with the Raptors in 2009-10.
The six-time all-star played nine seasons with the Raptors and is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, field goals and points.
DeRozan is also 18th on the NBA's all-time scoring list and is 171 points behind Hakeem Olajuwon for 17th.
The Raptors host the Nuggets for the teams' second and final meeting of the season on Nov. 29.
