The Washington Wizards continue their complete revamp, this time with a trade at the NBA Draft to secure Bilal Coulibaly from the Indiana Pacers.
Indiana originally held the seventh overall pick used to select Coulibaly but opted to move back one spot and select Jarace Walker while receiving future draft assets from Washington.
Coulibaly, a native of Saint-Cloud, France, was a teammate of first-overall selection Victor Wembanyama at Metropolitans 92. He was a late riser up draft boards with his physical tools becoming a key talking point standing at six-foot-six with a seven-foot-two wingspan.
The Pacers will receive second-round selections and the rights to forward Jarace Walker in return. They were reportedly listening to other offers for the seventh-overall pick before finalizing the deal with Washington.
Walker averaged 11.2 points and 6.8 rebounds in his one year playing for the Houston Cougars in the NCAA. He has a strong defensive acumen, averaging 1.0 steals and 1.3 blocks in college.
