Raptors confirm Pascal Siakam will make season debut Sunday vs. Nets

Raptors head coach Nick Nurse confirms Pascal Siakam is available to play and will return to game action against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday.

Pascal Siakam will make his season debut for the Toronto Raptors against the Brooklyn Nets, head coach Nick Nurse confirmed.

Nurse says that it's unclear whether he will be in the starting lineup but the Raptors will put Siakam on a minutes restriction.

Siakam underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder in June and was expected to be out of game action for five months. In 56 games last season, the 27-year-old averaged 21.4 points and 7.2 rebounds a game for the Raptors.

Forward Sam Dekker was placed on waivers by the Raptors Sunday in a move that gets the team below the luxury tax threshold before his contract was guaranteed for the season.

The Raptors host the Nets at 3:30 p.m. ET with the game being broadcasted on Sportsnet ONE and SN NOW.
