New Orleans superstar Zion Williamson is out indefinitely after suffering a left hamstring strain, the team announced Saturday.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, Williamson will be re-evaluated in the coming weeks.
Williamson missed a game last week Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks with hamstring tightness, but returned for the team's next game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, logging 29 points, eight rebounds and four assists in 29 minutes.
The 24-year-old has had a slow start to the season as he tries to get back to All-Star form. He is currently averaging 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in 31 minutes per game while shooting a career-low 45.2 per cent from the field.
He played in a career-high 70 games last year but has already missed four this season.
The Pelicans are currently 3-7 and sit in 14th place in the Western Conference. They're in the midst of a four-game losing streak.
