The New Orleans Pelicans are at last getting more clarity as to the timeline of Zion Williamson's return to action.
Williamson is "progressing well through rehabilitation" and is set to miss at least two more weeks as he continues to recover from a left hamstring strain, the team announced Wednesday.
New Orleans also announced that Jose Alvarado (hamstring) is out two more weeks and Jordan Hawkins (back) is out one more week, while Brandon Ingram (calf) and Herb Jones (shoulder) are questionable for Thursday's game against the Phoenix Suns.
Williamson is arguably the biggest piece of the puzzle for the Pelicans, as the two-time All-Star has missed all but six games this season with a hamstring issue.
The 24-year-old former first-overall pick averaged 22.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists in his limited appearances but has helped the team to two of their four wins this season.
He played in a career-high 70 games last year after suiting up for only 29 in the 2022-23 season.
The Pelicans have had a rough go with injury luck this season, as bench players Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Javonte Green are the only two players to appear in all 22 of the team's games.
They're currently in the midst of a nine-game losing streak and are 4-18, good for last in the Western Conference.
