Barnes, the fourth overall pick in 2021, is averaging 14.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists this season to put him in contention for Rookie of the Year.
Achiuwa, who was acquired by the Raptors along with Goran Dragic in the Kyle Lowry trade, is averaging 7.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in his second NBA season.
The Rising Stars event takes place on Feb. 18, and includes 12 rookies, 12 sophomores and four players from the NBA G League Ignite team — a development team associated with the G League that has some players who are not yet eligible to be drafted.
After seven years of USA vs. World games for the Rising Stars event, the NBA is changing the structure in 2022 to create a tournament. Four assistant coaches will draft teams of seven players, with each team featuring one G-League Ignite player.
The tournament will consist of two games in Round 1, where the first team to reach the Elam Ending target score of 50 points wins. Then the winners of each game will play to the target score of 25.
