Scottie Barnes' rehab on his injured right ankle appears to be headed in the right direction.
Sportsnet's Michael Grange reported that the Toronto Raptors star went through a light workout on Sunday with assistant coaches, but there is still no timeline for his return.
Barnes suffered a right ankle sprain on Monday in a loss to the New York Knicks. The Raptors said Tuesday that Barnes will be re-evaluated in a week.
While Barnes is averaging career-highs of 21 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.8 assists through this year — fresh off inking a five-year maximum contract extension that could reach up to $270 million — he’s only played in 13 games due to injury. He missed 11 games earlier this season due to an orbital fracture.
In other Raptors injury news, Grange reported that Bruce Brown went through a full practice Sunday, but is still listed as day-to-day. Brown is still waiting to make his season debut after undergoing right knee surgery on Sep. 20.
Meanwhile, Immanuel Quickley's return to the lineup doesn't appear to be imminent. Grange reported that Quickley worked out Sunday while only using his right arm, and has still not been cleared for practice.
Quickley hasn't played since Nov. 10 due to a partial tear to the UCL in his left elbow.
