The Toronto Raptors just can't seem to get fully healthy.
Even as centre Jakob Poeltl returns to the lineup for Wednesday's night clash with the Indiana Pacers, star forward Scottie Barnes has been ruled out with a hip injury.
According to Sportsnet's Michael Grange, Poeltl will be on a minutes restriction in his first game since Feb. 4.
The 29-year-old has played in 44 games for the Raptors this year, averaging career highs for scoring (14.2), rebounds (10.1) and steals (1.2). His 61.0 field goal percentage is also a career-high mark and leads the team this season, as does his 1.3 blocks per game.
Meanwhile, it's unclear when Barnes suffered his injury, as he played 34 minutes in the Raptors' 111-101 loss to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, putting up 21 points, three rebounds and six assists.
Barnes had been enjoying a clean bill of health of late, suiting up for the team's last 31 games. He missed 11 games near the start of the season with an eye injury and two more in December with an ankle sprain.
The 23-year-old is averaging 19.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 34.7 minutes per game over 45 outings in his fourth season.
Toronto is currently 18-40 and sits 13th in the Eastern Conference. They're 3-7 in their last 10 games.
The Raptors face off against Pascal Siakam and the Pacers at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT with coverage on Sportsnet ONE and Sportsnet+.
