Toronto Raptors forward RJ Barrett will miss Friday night's game against the Atlanta Hawks due to injury management for his knee on the second half of a back-to-back, head coach Darko Rajakovic announced.
Barrett scored 12 points and added seven assists in Toronto's 121-93 win over the Brooklyn Nets Thursday, logging 29 minutes of game action.
The 23-year-old's knee has previously cost his time since joining the Raptors. Barrett missed four games during a five-game stretch from Jan. 28 to Feb. 5.
Acquired in a multi-player deal with the New York Knicks in late December, the native of Mississauga, Ont. has averaged 20.1 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game on 54.2 per cent shooting with Toronto.
Jordan Nwora will start in Barrett's place, joining the starting five for the first time as a member of the Raptors and first time since April 9th when he was a member of the Indiana Pacers.
Nwora was acquired in the Pascal Siakam trade and has averaged 6.2 points and shot 40 per cent from three in 11 games since joining Toronto.
You can watch the Raptors take on the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE or Sportsnet+.
