Toronto Raptors centre Chris Boucher is expected to miss the next three to four weeks after having surgery to re-align a dislocated finger on his left hand, head coach Nick Nurse said Monday.
Boucher averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.9 blocks in 24.2 minutes per game last season.
The 28-year-old signed a two-year, $13.5 million contract with the Raptors last November and will be an unrestricted free agent following the 2021-22 season.
Gary Trent Jr. won’t play in the team’s pre-season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers either as he continues to work his way back from a quad injury. Scottie Barnes will start along with Fred VanVleet, Goran Dragic, OG Anunoby and Precious Achiuwa.
The Raptors host the 76ers at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT Monday night on Sportsnet ONE and SN Now.
