Toronto Raptors centre Chris Boucher will not be in the lineup when the team opens a road trip Monday in Portland due to a bruise on his lower back.
Boucher provided an update on his condition when speaking to reporters Monday. He was lifted from Saturday’s loss to the Pistons early because of the injury.
The Raptors have not determined yet whether Fred VanVleet (groin) and Precious Achiuwa (shoulder) will be healthy enough to play Monday after both players missed Saturday’s game. Both players are currently questionable on the daily injury report.
Forward Yuta Watanabe, who has yet to play a game this season due to a calf injury, is travelling with the team and could make his debut on the trip, which includes games against Utah, Sacramento, Golden State, Memphis and Indiana.
