The Toronto Raptors have announced that point guard Kyle Lowry will not be available for Thursday’s game against the Washington Wizards due to rest.
Yuta Watanabe (right ankle soreness), Chris Boucher (left knee sprain), Paul Watson Jr. (left knee tendinitis), OG Anunoby (left calf injury rehab) and Aron Baynes (left foot contusion) have also been ruled out of the game, while trade deadline acquisition Gary Trent Jr. returns to the lineup after missing the past six games.
Lowry didn’t play in Tuesday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers due to lower back stiffness after his 37-point performance against the defending champion Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
The 35-year-old is averaging 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 46 games this season.
Thursday’s game is a big one for the Raptors as they currently trail the 10th-place Wizards by three games for the final spot in the Eastern Conference’s play-in tournament. The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE.
