Toronto Raptors guard Jeff Dowtin Jr. underwent successful surgery Tuesday to remove loose bodies from his right ankle, the team announced.
Dowtin Jr. will now conduct his rehabilitation program back in Toronto under the supervision of the Raptors' medical staff. The team announced that he will be in a walking boot for approximately two weeks.
The 26-year-old guard averaged 2.4 points, 1.2 assists and 10.4 minutes in 25 games for the Raptors in 2022-23.
Dowtin Jr. appeared in 19 regular season games with Raptors 905, averaging 16.9 points, 5.9 assists and 4.2 rebounds.
The Rhode Island product played this season on a two-way contract which means he earned a scaled amount of the NBA’s minimum salary and was eligible to play 50 games with the big club while splitting time with their G-League affiliate.
