Kawhi Leonard's return to game action with the Toronto Raptors will have to wait.
The star forward will remain out on Saturday as the Raptors take on Leonard's former team, the Los Angeles Clippers, in Vancouver, according to Sportsnet's Michael Grange.
Leonard didn't play in Toronto's pre-season opener on Saturday in Quebec City against the Miami Heat due to reconditioning.
The 35-year-old did make progress in getting back on the court this week, taking part in his first full practice with the Raptors on Monday.
He also participated in Friday's practice in Vancouver.
Leonard was acquired via a blockbuster trade first reported early in the off-season. Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, unprotected first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, a 2027 first-round swap and two second-round picks were sent to the Clippers in return.
The 35-year-old forward is coming off a season where he posted career highs with 27.9 points per game on 62.9 per cent true shooting, also adding 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals over 65 games.
That performance earned Leonard a seventh-place finish in MVP voting and selections to the All-Star Game and All-NBA second team.
Grange also reported that there is optimism that Raptors rookie Allen Graves could make his debut Saturday against the Clippers as he works through a groin ailment.
Graves was selected 19th overall by the Raptors in this summer's draft out of Santa Clara. The 20-year-old averaged 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 51.2 per cent shooting in his lone college season.
Toronto has three more games on its pre-season schedule after the Vancouver trip before opening its regular season Oct. 21 against the Chicago Bulls.
