Toronto Raptors centre Khem Birch will return to the lineup ahead of Friday night's game against the Brooklyn Nets, while forwards Chris Boucher and Otto Porter Jr. remain out.
Porter is showing signs of improvement, but there's still no timeline for his return, Raptors head coach Nick Nurse said.
According to Sportsnet's Michael Grange, Birch did not get an MRI for his knee injury and that sitting out Wednesday's season opener was a precautionary measure.
Birch last played in from of his hometown in the Raptors' preseason finale at Montreal's Bell Centre. The 30-year-old was Toronto's starting centre, picking up four points, four rebounds and two assists.
