Toronto Raptors centre Jakob Poeltl had surgery on his little finger on his left hand on Tuesday in New York to repair a torn ligament, the team said.
Poeltl was hurt in Sunday's win over the Charlotte Hornets. There is no timetable for his return.
Poeltl was forced to miss a month of action with a sprained left ankle earlier this season.
The Austrian big man is averaging 11.1 points and 8.6 rebounds this season.
The Raptors are severely short-handed.
The team said it is too soon to say if Scottie Barnes will be able to return this season after undergoing hand surgery on Monday.
Meanwhile, Bruce Brown missed his second game in a row on Tuesday with right knee inflammation.
Then, in Tuesday's loss to New Orleans, Ochai Agbaji exited with knee soreness
