Toronto Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley will miss Friday's tilt against the Los Angeles Clippers with a "right thigh contusion."
Quickley was absent from practice on Thursday after picking up the injury against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday, but he is not expected to be out long. Raptors coach Darko Rajakovic said Quickley is day-to-day, and will travel with Toronto on its six-game road trip that kicks off on Sunday in Atlanta.
This would be the first game Quickley has missed as a member of the Raptors since joining the team in late December. The 24-year-old is averaging a career-high 16.7 points, 6.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds on 44 percent from three, while also shooting 41.1 percent from the field.
Rajakovic also mentioned that with Quickley's absence, Scottie Barnes is in line to start at point against the Clippers, with guard Dennis Schroder to continue to come off of the bench.
Elsewhere, centre Jakob Poeltl has continued to progress after returning to practice this week, but will remain out on Friday. His return is expected at some point during the road trip. Rookie Gradey Dick is also back with the team after playing with the Raptors 905 on Wednesday.
