RJ Barrett is healthy and ready to step back on the floor against his former team.
After missing the Toronto Raptors' past two games due to an illness, the Canadian will be available for Monday's road game against the New York Knicks, the team announced.
Barrett was acquired by the Raptors from the Knicks last December in the trade that sent OG Anunoby to New York. Monday will be his second start in a Raptors uniform against his former squad.
This season, Barrett is averaging career-highs across the board, leading the Raptors with 23.5 points per game along with 6.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists through 24 appearances.
He previously missed three games to start the year due to a shoulder injury.
Barrett's return is a big boost for a Raptors team that is trying to break a seven-game losing streak. However, the Raptors will still be without Immanuel Quickley, Jakob Poeltl and Bruce Brown, as all three players are still working their way back from injury. Rookie Jamal Shead was also a late scratch due to a right knee contusion that flared up in pre-game warmups.
You can watch Barrett make his return against the Knicks live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ starting at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT.
