An already thin Raptors roster will be down another piece.
The Toronto Raptors will be without wing RJ Barrett for their game against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday as he deals with an illness, the team announced.
Barrett has had an impressive month and year overall in Toronto, as the hometown star has averaged 23.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.1 assists this season and 25.1 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.7 assists in December.
Since missing the first three games of the season as he recovered from a pre-season shoulder injury, Barrett has suited up for all 24 Raptors games.
Joining the Mississauga native on the bench will be centre Jakob Poeltl (groin), guard Immanuel Quickley (elbow) and wing Bruce Brown (knee).
Additionally, the Raptors have listed forward Scottie Barnes as questionable after the former All-Star suffered a sprained ankle last week. Guard Davion Mitchell is also listed as questionable with a shoulder strain.
The Raptors are currently 7-20 and sit 14th in the Eastern Conference. They're on the back of a five-game losing streak.
Their game against the Brooklyn Nets tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet Ontario and Sportsnet 360.
