The Toronto Raptors announced that guard Goran Dragic is taking a leave of absence, with full support from the team, to handle a personal matter.
There is no set timeline for Dragic’s return but he has the “backing” of president Masai Ujiri, coach Nick Nurse “and the entire organization,” said general manager Bobby Webster in an official statement.
Dragic arrived to Toronto during the off-season as part of the sign-and-trade that sent Kyle Lowry to the Miami Heat.
The veteran guard has appeared in five games for the Raptors this season, averaging eight points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 18 minutes per game.
