Thaddeus Young will be in the starting lineup for the first time this season when the Toronto Raptors visit the Los Angeles Lakers.
Young replaces centre Jakob Poeltl, who is out indefinitely with a left ankle sprain.
The Raptors were already thin under the rim after trading Precious Achiuwa to the Knicks last month. Now with Poeltl out, head coach Darko Rajakovic is left to go with a by-committee approach to filling those minutes.
Young, 35, has only appeared in eight games for the Raptors this season. He is averaging two points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists.
Young is in his 18th NBA season.
