Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet didn’t practice on Sunday and has been listed as questionable on the team’s official injury report, which may lead to him being unavailable on Monday against the Washington Wizards.
VanVleet left Friday’s game against the Golden State Warriors in the third quarter with a strained left hip flexor and did not return. He played 19 minutes prior to his departure and tallied seven points and three assists.
According to Raptors head coach Nick Nurse, the injury is considered a day-to-day issue.
If VanVleet is unable to play Monday, Nurse said he will likely start rookie guard Malachi Flynn in his place, with DeAndre’ Bembry serving as the backup.
Kyle Lowry, who normally starts alongside VanVleet in the Raptors backcourt, will also miss at least another week with a foot infection.
VanVleet was averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game prior to his hip injury.
