Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid is nearing a return from a meniscus injury and is expected to play this week, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
Head coach Nick Nurse told reporters last week that he expects Embiid to return ahead of the playoffs.
Embiid, who has averaged 35.3 points and 11.3 rebounds this season, has been sidelined since suffering a meniscus injury on Jan. 30 that required surgery on Feb. 6.
Philadelphia has struggled without the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player going 10-18 in that time. The 76ers own a 26-8 record with Embiid on the floor this season.
Embiid is currently listed out for Tuesday's home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 76ers then hit the road to face the Miami Heat on Thursday.
