Andrew Nembhard can celebrate in France.
The Canadian point guard has agreed to a three-year, $59-million extension with the Indiana Pacers, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on Wednesday.
Nembhard, who is getting ready to play in the Olympics with Canada, gets the maximum contract available over that term after two years in the NBA as a second-round pick.
Wojnarowski reported that the Pacers will decline his $2.2-million team option in 2025-26, allowing his extension to kick in next year.
Selected 31st overall by the Pacers in the 2022 NBA Draft, the 24-year-old Nembhard had a breakout 2024 playoffs, helping the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Final.
The native of Aurora, Ont., averaged 14.9 points and 5.5 assists, while shooting 56 per cent from the field and 48.3 per cent from three-point range in 17 playoff games.
Nembhard and Canada open the Olympic tournament Saturday against host France.
